On February 24 2015, my dear sister, Natasha Allison-Reitmans, departed on her final journey into the stars.
I was fortunate enough to have spent time with her before her passing in Sydney and witnessed first hand her playful, loving and courageous spirit though all the pain that cancer enforced on her.
It’s taken me more than a year, to pull myself back together-- to sew and create clothing again. There have been a few pieces here and there, but I am very fulfilled to have created two outfits in her memory.
The blouse and bubble short combination are versatile and playful. They reflect the same easy-going spirit with which my sister approached life. The choice of fabric, colour-palate and pattern all echo her spirit.
These garments were sewn while listening to Natasha’s i-Tunes playlist. There is so much of her presence in them, and I have sewn all my love for her into them too. They are truly sewn out of love.
How do you get your hands on these garments?
The entire proceeds from the sale of these garments will go to cancer charities.
A total of two sets have been made.
One set to be donated through raffle at the ‘On Yer Bike, Cancer!” event in Hong Kong.

The proceeds from the event all go to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.
The second set of garments will be sold on this online store and the proceeds donated to Sacred Heart Hospice in Sydney, Australia. This is the place where Natasha spent her final days.
The blouse features a stripped cotton yoke and band collar, while the lower torso section is a flowing fabric with gathered back. The back is also longer than the front to highlight the loose and flowing feel. The front and back fabrics differ slightly in their geometric pattern, but they are actually from the same piece of fabric. This is a visually unique detail.
The bubble shorts are in the same fabric as the yoke of the blouse. They feature a small side pocket as well as coordinating piping at the short cuff. This design detail brings the blouse and shorts together in a cohesive outfit. This pattern is by Peek-a-boo Patterns. (http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/)
